Assistance is always appreciated, and if you do not wish to work in one of our shops, perhaps you could help us with fund raising.    This can be anything from raising prizes for our raffles, organizing fun nights out to raise funds, etc. etc.

Love animals?    Need company?    Want some fun and socializing?

Whatever your reason for volunteering to work in one of our shops (San Gwann or St. Paul’s Bay) we would love you to join us.

You could work in the background – this means you will be unpacking and sorting items which have been donated to us.

You  could work in the front of the shop – this entails all kinds of duties, for instance you might be stacking ornaments on shelves, sorting books, toys, etc. and sometimes even being a ‘fashion advisor’ to customers.

Shops are operated on a shift basis – morning and afternoon at San Gwann and morning only at Saint Paul’s Bay.

Come along and spend a couple of hours working in one of our shops and we will guarantee you lots of laughs and many new friends.

Since September 2009 together with our members we have neutered 1400 cats and dogs.

This has been made possible by the support and dedication of our members and our volunteers.

In an incredibly short space of time – apart from neutering 1400 animals free of charge - we have grown into a large organisation.     Our members number over 100 now, and we are amazed at the close working relationships which have formed amongst them.    With our help a network of members willing to be of help to each other is forming, so when our members contact us for help we are able to put them in touch with other members for assistance.

This network of helpers was never one of our aims but it seems to have evolved in a natural way and it works!

We have also developed a close working relationship with other animal charities and are pleased to assist them whenever possible.

In 2009 Paws Malta was formed by merging two charity shops – The Charity Shop in San Gwann, and Charity of Choice shop in St. Paul’s Bay.

We are people who have been involved in stray animal welfare for a number of years and we felt that two separate entities coming together under one umbrella would be far more beneficial than two standing alone, and so PAWS Malta was born!

Our primary aim is to help control the stray animal population by providing help to those people who dedicate their lives to taking care of stray animals.   We help by issuing vouchers which entitle our members to have stray animals neutered completely free of charge.      This system allows for  the immediate neutering of strays with no long appointment delays, (which invariably results in further pregnancies and large numbers of additional strays being introduced onto the streets).   We also provide pet food free of charge to a large number of feeders, and we have a close and happy working relationship with other animal charity organizations.

Our services are provided absolutely FREE OF CHARGE to our members and our funds are raised by operating the two shops and fund-raising events.   Our hard working team is completely voluntary and therefore ALL funds raised are directed straight to animal welfare.
